God Moving Within the Hearts of the Lost

holdingforthhisword

Beloved brethren, I just watched the most amazing video about the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit upon the people of Lewis, Scotland in 1949.  It is so very moving.  I hope that this video encourages and blesses you as it did me.  The outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit and conviction of sin and burning desire for salvation was God answering the prayers of two born again women.  Prior to God answering their prayers, God’s Word fell on deaf ears.  I hope the realization of God’s mercy and grace poured out abundantly in answer to believing prayer will move us to pray expectantly for God’s great grace to be poured out upon ourselves, our families, our churches, our nation.   God bless you:)

YOUR POSITION IN CHRIST

Inspirational Christian Blogs

James 4:7
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you
Daisy was one of the first persons I dealt with who was caught in spiritual conflicts and suffered from demonic influences. She was a Christian and a university graduate, but she had severe mental and emotional problems which developed after her father divorced her mother. Within a period of five years, Daisy had been institutionalized three times as a paranoid schizophrenic. After about three weeks of counseling with me, Daisy finally found the nerve to bring up the nighttime visitation of snakes.
“What about the snakes?” I asked.
“They crawl on me at night when I’m in bed,” she confessed.
“What do you do when the snakes come?”
“I run in to my mother. But they always come back when I’m alone.”
“Why don’t you try something different,” I continued…

Friday Fun — Do you share your work with your partner or spouse?

I TOTALLY agree~

Live to Write - Write to Live

Friday Fun is a group post from the writers of the NHWN blog. Each week, we’ll pose and answer a different, get-to-know-us question. We hope you’ll join in by providing your answer in the comments.

QUESTION: Do you share your work with your partner or spouse?

wendy-shotWendy Thomas: I have a *few* select friends with whom I am willing to share a work-in-progress. My WIPs all feel so naked and exposed – they tend to initially be so raw that I can’t bear the thought of my spouse (as much as I love him) making comments or pointing out mistakes. Instead, I share my work with a few other writer friends who’s opinions and skill I wholeheartedly trust. It takes a long time to build up that kind of a relationship, but once you have it, it’s golden.

As far as my other work, well it’s on the internet…

Sermon: Creation Preaches God’s Glory (Psalm 19:1-6)

Creation Preaches God’s Glory

Psalm 19:1-6

How do we know God?  I’ve started with this question because it cuts past all the philosophical arguments or proofs of God’s existence.  Every reputable theologian would agree that those arguments fall infinitely short in proving God’s existence anyway and/or explaining what the God, who exists, is like.  It’s not that there are no advantages in understanding the teleological argument for God’s existence[1] for example, but I believe that God is not to be dissected and examined by men and placed under a theological microscope but worshipped with joy and loved.  It is true we do need to understand who God is and we do this by learning various things about Him, but not from the standpoint of God proving anything to us.  To scrutinize whether or not God exists is to begin a study like this on the side of…

Time to Trust

This is a must read!

Days & Thoughts

JoanneVWordImageLarge

I open my Bible and read of a time when a vast army came against God’s people. In case we need to know just how large of an army it truly was, Scripture tells us it was an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots (2 Chronicles 14:9, NLT). King Asa deploys his armies and then does exactly what I would have done … he cried. Only he cried out to God, that is ….

“O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for our trust is in you alone.” (2 Chronicles 14:11, NLT)

Some difficulties in life, we are able to handle on our own. Let’s be honest, some are just a no-brainer and a simple response on our part takes care of it.

But then there are times we can so identify with Asa and realize, we…

God’s Intentions

I was so blessed to read this. We all should be proud to stand up for what we believe. Our salvation is the one true thing that we came into this world without, but will not leave without. We did not have when we came into this world, but neither man nor his evils can do anything to a Christian to take it from us. Evil at our last breath, if death came to us, if our tongues were cut out of our heads that we never pray again, we still can praise God. If it were a life or death choice, what would you do to serve the Lord?

The Daily Bible Plan

Daily Bible Reading – Genesis 49,50; Psalm 8; Luke 20

Today’s Key Passage – Genesis 50:15-21

During Joseph’s life, many people had evil intentions for him.  When he was very young, his brothers plotted to kill him and later sold him into slavery.  While living as a slave in Egypt, the wife of his master lied about Joseph because he refused to sleep with her and had him put in prison.  While in prison, he interpreted a dream for the chief cupbearer and asked the cupbearer for his help in getting out of prison, but when the chief cupbearer was restored to his position by Pharaoh, he selfishly neglected to do anything to help Joseph.  It seemed that throughout Joseph’s life, people continued to try to harm him, but each step of the way God was with him.  All of these events eventually led Joseph to a position…
